Lag, lag, magnificent lag. Phones are lagging so much it's starting to drive me nuts
To puzzle game fans: I'd love to know if anyone has ever cracked Imago's Daily Flight today. 200,000,000 points in 20 moves. That's not a typo.
Minecraft - Oslo Opera House (Rebuilt) by MinecraftArchitect90
Minecraft - Oslo Opera House (Rebuilt)
The "Norwegian Wonder" I mentioned in my journal, Oslo Opera House, completely rebuilt.
Built in a new location as you can see the 1WTC in the background :)
Why I rebuilt this is twofold: it's my favourite opera house building & the original was lost when my OCZ SSD died two years ago.
I'm too lazy to retype the description & I'm sick at the moment but I'm working to improve my interior design skills. Still a but of a WIP but will upload more views upon request.

Info:

A modern marvel in one of Europe's finest cities, Oslo's main opera house is both a world wonder & one of the world's finest cultural centers. This magnificent structure is the home of the Norwegian opera & ballet, but it's more than an opera house; it is also an arts complex, where numerous contemporary pieces of art are on display, in the foyer, & of course the building itself.

The building's design is distinctive with it's predominantly sloping angular motifs which form an integral part of it's design. Construction began in 2003 after a decision to build a new, modern opera & arts venue in the city. It is built from highly polished Italian marble & has the same sloping features on the glass facade as well. The plaza provides visitors with an unobstructed view of the city & surrounding area. It is also built for skateboard users as the gentle slope facilitates skaters & pedestrians alike.

The opera house features two auditoriums, bars, restaurants, it's own car park & supreme acoustics. Towards the rear of the building are the production areas for rehearsals & preparations before a performance at any given time. It has a seating capacity for 1,350 spectators & all can enjoy a perfomance while taking in the elegant, wood-paneled walls & lighting inside the main auditorium.

The opera house was completed in 2008 after five years of work, & already it has been noted for it's clean, modern design & has picked up several accolades. This alone is enough to call Oslo Opera House a work of art in it's own right

Ready for a proper update? Sitting down with your favorite drink & snack? If not then I hope you're sitting comfortably because this journal will be the last like this in a while. This is not an announcement of a hiatus but I feel I'd share all the latest comings and goings with all of my friends & followers. So I'd be happy even if you could stay to read the first few paragraphs.

Life as of late has been crazy busy over the past few weeks or so, a lot of it to do with job hunting & looking for new training opportunities. Good news on that front: I'm down for an interview for a specialised training course on August 26th. 35 people in it for 20 places. I'm fairly confident I'll get it, but I still have to work on my self-esteem, which I'm doing every week. I'm almost 26 & still without a job but I'm always working to rectify that: as in most European countries it helps to get a very good college education. So I'm not worrying too much about that. If I do get it I'll be committed to working 37 hours a week but during the past year I've come to fully trust my closest friends should I ever feel down. I'll have to invest in a travel mug (a decent one) for my coffee too but that's no issue. In addition I'm not expecting my car to go wrong for a while (she passed the NCT, the Irish National Car Test) so no panic there. I'm going to have to get used to getting up at 7am to get in at 8:30am but alas. Life isn't a smooth road for the entire journey.

Another interesting piece of news for you is that I've gotten my hands on a HTC Vive, in collaboration with my dad. I'm pretty much broke until the end of the month, but the Vive is deserving of it's €930 price tag. I guarantee you that the experience is nothing short of amazing. To think we have come to this from the ill-fated Virtual Boy of 20+ years past (Angry Video Game Nerd has an amusing video on it) it's simply amazing. The library of games for it is impressive & expanding every week. If Minecraft were to become playable on it I don't think I can ever come off it. I think it's safe to say that VR technology will improve over time. I read Disney were experimenting with new technology that enables people to actually feel the texture of whatever they're touching on-screen, e.g, skin, wood, metal, glass, etc. That kind of tech would have a huge potential for VR.

If you're wondering about my latest Minecraft project, I can tell you this: it's an oldie but a goodie. I've been working on it on and off over the past few weeks due to a boatload of life stuff but I should have it up soon. Family, friends, for which I'm in crazy demand for and to be honest, I enjoy every minute with. the death of my long-ill grandfather on the 8th of this month, it has all added up. Having to go to the funeral was an upsetting experience & my second within 10 years. At least I draw comfort that he is at peace now.

Video Games: The main ones I'm looking forward to are Civilization 6 & River City Ransom Underground (the latter has no set release date) but with Civ 6 I'm always questioning their choices. Like Scythia will be a playable civ... The Scythians were a nomadic people & a loose confederation of tribes but I'm sure Firaxis were aware of all that. So that probably means we won't be seeing Attila & the Huns returning this time round. Finally on the Minecraft front, they're starting snapshots of 1.11 so hopefully that will be out the door towards the end of the year. To close, if you've read this much so far then I thank you for taking your time to do so. It's your support that drives me forward in every project I undertake. Had it not be for all of you I would have stopped long ago. Every favourite, comment, OC request and everything else drives me forward. So with all that, I hope you look forward to seeing my next Norwegian Wonder in the pipeline. So goodnight/day to you all, & do stay tuned!

These are some really amazing minecraft versions of places I haven't seen before!!! Amazing job!

I was wondering, would you ever do a minecraft version of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania?

Thank you! :D I always try to mix things up by building what very few or nobody has done before.

Can you send me a link to the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania? Sounds interesting! :)
